What does a DM generator control?
Typical controls include sender identity, message order, timestamps, read states and profile information. More advanced tools can animate incoming messages, typing or scrolling.
The generator does not confirm that the participants or exchange are real.
Why use one instead of editing a screenshot?
A dedicated generator handles bubble spacing, text wrapping and repeated changes more reliably than painting over an existing screenshot. It also avoids exposing a real inbox or account.
Interactive versions can be reset and recorded through multiple takes.
Where should the boundary be?
DM generators are appropriate for fictional stories, mockups, comedy, educational examples and authorized productions. They should not be used to impersonate a real person, manufacture allegations or create false evidence.
Use invented profiles and keep the project context available wherever confusion is possible.
